TSC makes new modifications to the county directors’ lineup.
This week, the teachers’ employer implemented significant reforms that included the reorganization of several Teachers Service Commission (TSC) County Directors, as confirmed by Education News using credible sources.
While several field officers impacted by the transfers acknowledged receiving their deployment letters and getting ready to head to their new locations, others were taken aback by the news.
Numerous County deputy directors and their Sub-County counterparts are also impacted by the migrations. Among those involved is Fredrick Ng’ang’a, the County Director (CD) of Murang’a, who has been promoted to the role of Regional Director (RD) and is currently in route to the Coast area.
Longtime director Victoria Muoka, who has since retired, will be replaced by Ng’ang’a. However, Margaret Kinyanjui, who has been the director of Kakamega County, reports to Murang’a in order to succeed Ng’ang’a.
Wilson Koros, the current administrator of Bungoma County, will take Ms. Kinyanjui’s post in Kakamega. Evans Esese, a longtime employee of the TSC headquarters who was just elevated following rigorous interviews for open county director posts, will take Koros’ role.
Dr. Esther Musani, the director of Homa Bay, is one of the other field officers who relocated, relocating to West Pokot. Francis Lotam, who just decided to retire, will be replaced by her. Milton Oyugi, the manager of Kericho County, will thus succeed Musani in Homa Bay.
Joseph Atwoto, who has been in charge of Samburu County, will take Oyugi’s post. In lieu of Atwoto, Kwale CD Dr. Peter Muasya has been relocated to Samburu. Education News has been informed that Dr. Muasya has been replaced at Kwale by Dr. Esther Njiru, the former head of Taita Taveta.
Former Tana River County manager David Gutu is on his way to Taita Taveta. Who left to take Gutu’s place was not immediately apparent. In a different move,
TSC reorganized the Deputy Directors (DD), replacing Dr. Aleke of Kericho with David Mogaka, who had been in Elgeyo/Marakwet County. Everlyne Chemjor, the Sub-County Director (SCD) of Tongaren in Bungoma County, has also relocated.
As the new DD, she has been sent to Nandi County. Wilfred Mosigisi, who is leaving for Bomet in a similar role, is replaced by Chemjor. The mid-year retirement of Daniel Mochama is replaced by him.
In related developments, Joseph Musyoka, the DD for Tharaka Nithi, has been replaced by John Paul Wepoke, the DD for Busia County, who has been moved to his home county of West Pokot County. Additionally, it has been confirmed that Ndombi Shivachi, the former Bumula SCD, has been promoted to the position of DD and is now relocating to Busia. Wepoke gives way to him. In a similar vein, Shivachi is replaced at Bumula by Samwel Wasonga, the Taita SCD.
