TSC Admits Portal Issues Affecting Job Applications.
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has acknowledged that there are technological issues with its teacher recruiting webpage.
TSC reassured consumers that they are trying to resolve the issue and expressed their regret for any inconvenience in a statement released on Thursday, October 3.
We regret to notify you that the teacher recruitment portal is presently unavailable due to technical issues.
“We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused and kindly request your patience as we work diligently to restore the portal as soon as possible,” said TSC.
This occurs barely one day after the commission declared that 46,000 teaching positions would be filled by hiring instructors on permanent and pensionable terms of service.
According to TSC, there are 6,000 positions available for elementary schools, 39,550 for junior secondary schools, and 450 for secondary institutions.
To qualify for recruitment, TSC said, a candidate should be a Kenyan citizen and must be a holder of a minimum of a P1 certificate in the case of primary schools and a minimum of a diploma in education in the case of junior secondary and secondary schools.
Additionally, the commission said a candidate must be a registered teacher with the Teachers Service Commission.
“Interested and qualified candidates should submit their applications online through the Teacher Service Commission website, tsc.go.ke under ‘Careers’ or teachersonline.tsc.go.ke,” TSC stated.
However, since then, applicants have complained that they have been unable to submit their applications after encountering technical difficulties on the commission’s portal.
