KNEC to Release KPSEA Results on Monday.
The Ministry of Education has declared that the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) results will be made public by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC).
The ministry asked parents of students who took the KPSEA to check their results as soon as the link opens, according to a news release signed by Cabinet Secretary for Education Julius Migos on January 4.
The statement stated, in part, that “the week beginning January 6, 2025, the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment learner reports will be accessible on school portals.”
For students in Grade 6, KPSEA is an important evaluation procedure that acts as a transitional test that illustrates how the competency-based curriculum (CBC) has affected their primary education. The Ministry reports that the CBC pioneer cohort will move on to Grade 9 on time this semester.
In the same vein, the administration insisted that the results of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam will be made public during the first two weeks of January.
According to the Ministry, the first term of 2025 will last 13 weeks, including a 5-day midterm vacation. On Monday, January 6, all schools are anticipated to reopen for the upcoming session.
In 2024, KPSEA drew 1,313,913 applicants from all around the country, who took part in 35,573 testing locations.
According to the Ministry, it is dedicated to making sure that students have a seamless transition. The government started building 16,000 classrooms nationwide in four stages to guarantee a smooth transition to Grade 9. According to the government, the current completion rate is 93%.
The CS observed that education field officers and institution heads are directed to implement temporary measures to guarantee the safety of all students in the few cases where some construction work has not been completed.
Concurrently, the Ministry verified that 9,926,618 textbooks had been sent to educational institutions across the nation.
For seamless academic operations, the distribution is anticipated to be finished by Monday, January 6, 2025.
Regarding the capitation issue, the Ministry committed to allocating Ksh48.3 billion, of which 50% would be distributed in term two, 30% would go to schools, and the remaining 20% would be distributed in term three.
