KNEC makes excellent preparations as it begins the 2024 exam season.
A major step toward guaranteeing a secure and seamless process for millions of candidates has been taken with the official opening of the 2024 national examinations and assessments season by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC).
2,279,414 students from all throughout the nation will take part in the national exams this year.
In 10,565 centers, 965,501 applicants will take the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), while 1,303,913 candidates will take the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) in 35,573 places.
In order to improve both security and the logistical handling of exam materials, KNEC has purchased 41 more containers, bringing the total to 617. To maintain the integrity of the procedure, these containers will be utilized to safely store and ship exam materials across the nation.
Dr. David Njegere, CEO of KNEC, reaffirmed these actions and emphasized the council’s emphasis on a smooth examination period.
To combat cheating and other misbehavior during the exam period, The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has also implemented additional procedures, such as switching out exam supervisors every two weeks.
Rehearsals for the KCSE exams will start on October 18, 2024, while the actual tests will take place between October 22 and November 22, 2024. Exams for the KPSEA will start on October 28, 2024. Written by Jane Riana
