JSS teachers are happy after completing the TSC employment forms.
After successfully completing Permanent and Pensionable (PnP) forms during the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) document verification exercise, which will guarantee their employment for the rest of their lives, verified junior secondary school (JSS) teachers nationwide are feeling very happy.
Speaking to Education News, successful applicants in the Teso North sub-county praised the Sub County Director (SCD) and the entire verification panel for putting them through a faultless and excellent procedure. It was a fair and free exercise.
An enthusiastic intern joked, “We were welcomed and guided with our fatherly Sub County Director and able Curriculum Support Officers.”
After extending the verification exercise to accommodate a female teacher who had just given birth at a nearby hospital, one SCD in the seaside region received countless compliments.
Elwak sub-county in Mandera county, Delta sub-county in Tana River county, Hadado sub-county in Wajir county, Shantabag sub-county in Garissa county, Ithanga/Kakuza and Thika West sub-counties in Kiambu county, and Kipipiri sub-county in Nyandarua county are among the other SCDs receiving praise. The teachers expressed optimism that their chance to be employed was secured after the flawless process.
In the North Rift, a male teacher sobbed heavily with excitement upon been given the employment letter to fill. While the others were instructed on how to fill out the form, he was allowed to express his happiness.
The same thing happened to a female teacher in Trans Nzoia County who was seeing the document filling process with her clan elder.
The exercise will conclude today, having begun on October 11, 2024. The SCDs summoned the shortlisted applicants to the appropriate recruitment locations on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, so they could complete out the job paperwork.
Teachers have for the first time praised the Commission’s readiness and the nearly flawless document verification in some sub-counties, stating that it fulfilled their expectations.
TSC should make sure that it overcomes political meddling in these exercises as part of its efforts to restore its reputation.
Additionally, it should curb regionalism and tribalism, which its field officers worked hard to prevent.
